Why should I use a professional web design company? |

There are many do-it-yourself, template-based website creation tools. If you are on a very limited budget, by all means doing it yourself is better than nothing (and we'll tell you how in the Small Business Website Manual). However, this will not give you anything like the kind of visual excitement and "WOW" effect that a site designed by a professional designer will. In addition, having a site that looks good is only half the job. You want a site that is designed from the start to attract search-engine traffic, convert visitors to customers, capture email addresses, and allow customers to purchase your product or service immediately. |

Why should I hire your company versus another? |

Many web designers know very little about sales copywriting, search-engine optimization, internet marketing and ecommerce. Even when they provide you with a site that looks good, its possible that no-one will find it, and even if they do, you won't be setup to benefit from this. We will provide you, from the start, with a team of web development and internet marketing experts which would be very difficult or impossible for you to assemble on your own. And all of this for less than what your typical professional web-designer will charge! |

What kind of websites can you make? |
| Generally speaking, there exist 3 types of websites: static html websites, with or without Flash (custom-designed sites such as we make); ecommerce websites with dynamic (database-driven) content, and content-management system (CMS) websites with dynamic content. Static html sites are fine if you have less than a dozen products to sell and you are ok with an external shopping cart system like Paypal. Ecommerce websites are for retailers / wholesalers with a lot of products, or products that you want more control over the display and pricing. Content Management System (CMS) websites are useful when you have a lot of content, content that changes frequently, or where dynamic features are required (like membership, calendar, RSS feeds etc.). Its also possible to mix-and-match, for example its easy to add a blog (which is a dynamic feature) to a static html website.

How did you all get started doing this? And are you really going to be around for a while? |
| Arrow Web Design was started in 1999. We have added all our customers to Arrow by word of mouth with no advertising. Recent;ly we bought Best Commerce Tools (Website Design by Promotion) and we plan to keep buying up smaller companies and adding them to our continuing growing clientele. With this kind of growth and continuing strong interest in our products and services we are unlikely to go anywhere soon.

How does payment work? |
|
We take half payment upfront and half on completion for all work over $1000. We feel that this gives a fair distribution of the risk. Small websites or website maintenance work is usually paid upfront. |

How do I maintain my site (update the content)? |
| We offer maintenance contracts starting at just $11 a month for up to four hours a year of our time working on your website. You can also pay us hourly, but our rates are more expensive and our maintenance clients get first priority on our services. We feel that a maintenance contract is the way to go for most of our clients. We specialize in web design and content. We would not presume to offer legal advice and we feel if you want to keep a professional looking web site, you should stick with a professional web team to do so. However, any clients that desire to update their own content we are more than happy to work with and to help in any capacity. We also feel that your time is valuable. You are working to grow your business. Why not just send us an email with your change request, and have us take care of it promptly, rather than spend the time away from your own company to edit your web content? |

Who owns the website? |
| You, of course. After we receive your final payment, you own the copyright to any design we produce for you; and you may transfer out your site to another hosting company at any time.

Do you work on sites hosted elsewhere? |
| Yes Hosting with us is optional. However, be aware that some of the services we provide, in particular the mailing list service, are not installed by default if you are hosted elsewhere, since not all hosts support dynamic programming features. Furthermore, it is really discouraged to host elsewhere if you have a dynamic site (ie a site with backend programming such as our Ecommerce sites). The reason for this is that web hosting companies don't provide development (or application support). So, if your site goes down, no one will be responsible. |

Can I transfer my current website to you for hosting? |
|
Absolutely. Many people transfer their sites to us because of our unbeatable combination of service and price. We will transfer most sites to us for free. Just buy our hosting service with a year pre-pay, and we will contact you with further instructions. |

Am I entering into any long-term contract or obligation towards you? |
| Absolutely not. You can cancel your hosting service at any time. If we have registered your domain name on your behalf, we will release it immediately to your chosen registrar or else change your name servers at your request.
